Marleen Gift—Treasurer and Director of Clothing Ministry

 I grew up on a farm in Northern Illinois, later moved to Wisconsin, then came to Indiana in 1986.

 

In 1998, I started M Gift Business and Tax Services, providing services to individuals and small businesses, including clergy. I continue to operate this business today. Previously, I worked as a paralegal assistant in a general-practice law firm, a staff accountant at CPA firms in communities where I have lived in the Midwest, and controller of a multi-corporation group.

 

I became a Stephen Minister in 1998 and a leader/trainer in 2000. Stephen Ministry provides extensive training of lay ministers to provide one-on-one Christian care to hurting people. This background has been valuable as God uses me in ministry.

 

God led me to the unique place called “Love Church” in 1999. My soon-to-be husband, Steve, and I knew this was where God was calling us to serve. I am supportive of Steve in his calling at Love Church as Assistant Pastor.

 

I formally came on staff at Love Church in November 2008, taking on the responsibilities of Treasurer. As the Clothing Ministry Director, I have seen many changes occur recently. This very active ministry serves the needs of thousands of God’s people through the clothing rooms operated by numerous volunteers.

 

As time allows, I continue to work on a bachelor’s degree at IPFW, majoring in Sociology, with a minor in Political Science.

 

I am so proud to be the mother of three grown children, Steve (married to Colleen), Scott (married to Sharla), and Andrea (soon to be married to Alex), as well as step-mom and grandma to Steve’s family.
